This is a type of relaxation massage that we’ve termed ‘Wellness Massage’ as that more accurately describes the goal of the service – it creates a feeling of overall ‘wellness’, not simply ‘relaxation’. These Wellness Massages will surpass your expectations of what a typical spa massage encompasses. Our intuitive and skilled practitioners are either a senior massage therapy student or a graduate of the massage therapy college waiting to complete the registration exams and has received over 2000 hours of training.

During this non-RMT massage, Swedish massage techniques are utilized to provide a transformative experience that is both relaxing and invigorating – a brilliant solution for every individual. A Wellness Massage can include full-body or more focused care including areas like the hands, feet, face, or scalp. Light to firm pressure can be used to support the body in times of high stress, injury, or perhaps as a treat before a special occasion.

Please note that these practitioners are not registered with the College of Massage Therapists of BC and therefore treatments may not be covered by extended medical benefits. Some extended medical plans do cover ‘relaxation massage’ or ‘wellness care’ as part of their benefits package. If you are lucky enough to have that coverage, please choose Westshore Massage for this service!

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch manual approach that enhances the body’s natural healing capabilities. The CranioSacral Therapy practitioner essentially helps the body release restrictions – which it has been unable to overcome on its own – that inhibit the body’s normal, self-correcting tendencies. Rather than deciding how these changes should be made, the therapist follows cues from the body on how to proceed. When the therapist follows this gentle approach, the method is extremely safe and effective. A craniosacral massage therapy session is an integration of CranioSacral therapy and gentle massage therapy techniques.

Uttam graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2020 with honours in both Clinical and Academic Sciences. His passion for a balanced lifestyle and interest in kinesiology drove him towards a career in manual therapy. He instantly felt a deep, soul level connection with Vancouver Island and finally made the move to Langford in May 2023. He believes that most biomechanical pain is directly or indirectly related to muscular imbalance, weakness or lack of extensibility somewhere in the kinetic chain, as well as the idea that physiology and psychology are strongly correlated. With the help of a thorough interview, assessment, treatment plan and a personalized strength and stretch routine, Uttam strives to address the root cause of his patients’ complaints and not just their symptoms. He uses a variety of techniques like Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Myofascial Release and Joint Mobilization in his treatments and is interested in further education in Graston, Yoga Therapy and Advanced Fascial Stretching. Uttam focuses on joint dysfunction, especially in the shoulder, knee, and spine, as well as posture corrective therapy. He focuses on assisting his patients in meeting their goals of being strong, pain free and mobile. In the past, Uttam has dabbled in engineering, before moving to Canada for a University diploma in Adventure Sports Management in 2013. He has since managed a coffee shop, been a whitewater raft guide in Jasper, swift water rescue technician with Kamloops Search and Rescue, automotive service technician, and a tow truck driver on the Coquihalla highway.
